Orthopedic Massage consists of a multitude of massage modalities in the treatment of soft tissue pain, dysfunction and post injury.
This massage consists of three main areas:
- Assessment of the clients lifestyle history and musculoskeletal system
- Customized combination of deep tissue, fascia and neuromuscular therapeutic massage techniques
- Systematic strength, stretch training/exercises and holistic planning
The therapist will first assess the client with a multitude of questions, physical evaluation and a treatment plan will be administered. Second, the therapist will implement a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of the client based upon the psychology of the injury and the psychological effects of the treatment chosen for that area. Treatment choices may change as the body responds. When utilized this modality will help to restore the body’s structure, significantly reduce or eliminate pain and improve mobility that has been lost or compromised. As with many other therapeutic massage techniques, the lifestyle as a whole is taken into consideration during the evaluation, treatment planning and healing process in order to optimize the strategy for a long term healthier pain free life.
